Miranda (Ship) photographs
Description
The photographs of the "Miranda" Expedition consist of 65 originals from the expedition. They portray the ship and crew, members of the expedition and some of the stark scenery seen by the expedition, as well as boats, clothing, houses and daily activities of the native Greenlanders. Many of the photographs were taken by Rudolf Kersting. In 1896, some, of the photographs were published in "Last Cruise of the Miranda," by Henry Walsh, a volume of essays which recounts the events of the expedition and presents some of the results.
