Four-page letter from Colonel Charles Jarvis in Fort Fairfield, Maine to Hon. John Fairfield, Governor of Maine in which he discusses the hostility of the sellters and advocates establishment of a post to maintain law and recommends Alvin Nye. Also talks about the conditions at Tobique, the boundary dispute between Maine and New Brunswick and more about the Houlton-Presque Isle road. Sketch of proposed road lacking. (Filed with Mss 839201)
