A.E. Daniels letter
Description
Three-page letter from A.E. Daniels to George Poor Daniels in which Leicester Academy student, A.E. Daniels, briefly describes the scene at Daniel Webster's Independence Day speech (1840) in Barre, Mass. Daniels does not comment on the content of the speech, but rather the crowd's reaction. At the time Webster was campaigning for presidential candidate, William Henry Harrison. The balance of the letter relates to Daniels' experiences at Leicester Academy (Leicester, Mass.).
