Description
The oral history interview of Allen King is comprised of three audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on Aug. 13 and 27, 1975. The entire interview runs for approximately two and a half hours. Professor King described the faculty and the attitude Hopkins had towards research and their moves to describe the change of attitude and Dickey's presidency. He talks about Dartmouth in 1975 and the growth of administration and red tape, and the faculty-administration split. He explains the grade inflation, the Physics Department, and the history of the Astronomy Department. He speaks of Gordon F. Hull, Leonard Reiser, Agnor Pytte, Dell Doyle, and Donald Morrison.
