Description
The oral history interview of Bruce Knight is comprised of one audiocassette recording and a tape log of the recording. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on April 29 and May 3, 1975in Hanover, NH. The entire interview runs for approximately one hour. Professor Knight describes the Economics Department, its members, and departmental problems. He also mentions Gordon Ferrie Hull, Malcolm Keir, George Wicker, Lester Chandler, Harry Purdy, and Clyde Dankert. He tells some of the "Rockefeller stories," and speaks of the different administrations of Hopkins and Dickey and their view on politics and salary. He also describes some of the interactions in the faculty meetings. He talks about the Dartmouth College Athletic Council, and their part in not rehiring Deormand McLaughry as football coach and hiring Bob Blackman.
