Description

Two-page letter from Joel Roberts Poinsett to an unidentified recipient, in which he writes relative to an officer, Maj. DeRussy, who was in charge of funds belonging to Indian Dept. which were "lost by an unavoidable accident." Poinsett also writing to Mr. Crawford for further facts to assisst Poinsett in presenting Maj. DeRussy's case "before meeting of Congress."
