Four-page letter from Eph Lockhart in Portobello to Lord Stirling in Paris, in which he comments on the difficulties between the US and England over Oregon and what will be the effect on Canada. Includes opinion of Reverdy Johnson in Stirling case (May 5, 1854), and newspaper clipping from "The Scotsman," May 26, 1866 and "The Evening Courant."
