Description

Two-page letter from James Knox Polk in Washington to Abbott Lawrence in Boston, telling him that he has received Ticknor's letter who inquires on behalf of Maria Edgeworth to Ireland about Polk's Irish relatives. Includes October 13, 1848 George Ticknor to Abbot Lawrence, authograph of President Polk, Jan. 12, 1841 and an engraving of Polk by H.B. Hall from a painting after Healey.
