Susanna Simons affidavit
Description
Three-page affidavit from Susanna Simons concerning a pension claim for her husband John Simons, a soldier in the Revolution for three years. Includes five photocopies of affidavits concerning the said claim signed by Jonah Sanford and witnessed by Ros. Hopkins, Justice of the Peace, as well as one signed by John G. Colt and also witnessed by Hopkins. One affidavit is signed by Kezia Heaton and Sarah Hews, witnessed by Sylvanus Hews, Justice of the Peace in Lyme, NH. Martin Thatcher, County Clerk of St. Lawrence County, New York attested to the fact that Hopkins and Barnes were in office at the time. Also includes photocopy of John Simons' army record from the General Services Administration and from the Secretary of State, NH as well as a photocopy of the Certificate of Pension, dates March 17, 1849 authorizing $ 80 per year to be paid to Susanna Simons.
