Reuben Abbot's Book 1739
Description
Ten-page handwritten pamphlet by Reuben Abbott, describing Abenaki raids on the settlements of Rumford (present-day Concord), NH, and surrounding communities. The attacks occur within less than a year from August 11, 1746 to July 27, 1747. Includes a page recording the deaths of Abbot's brother William and two others in 1741 as well as other deaths and the text of two contracts, a page listing money paid and received and two pages of calculations.
