Dept." durint the first month of the Zachary Taylor's administration in which William Morris Meredith requests statement of condition of office business, arrears of payment, causes and suggestions for remedying same. States that it is important that public business be acted on promptly and requires, if necessary, that clerks should work overtime to accomplish this.
