Description
The collection contains log books, and a log book transcript, "Sports Illustrated" magazines, an Explorers Club journal and editions of the "Che-Mun-Journal of Canadian Wilderness Canoeing," as well as a letter, clippings and some other material related to the American Expedition which canoed the length of the Back River in Canada in the summer 1962. Participants included Austin Hoyt, John W. Lentz, Kenneth W. Gregg and Tracy B. Perry. Of note is the compilation of all four original logs providing a daily account of the four participants including supplementary information and a cloth-backed map annotated by Kenneth W. Gregg chronicling the descent of the river.
