Description

The Tuck family papers contains correspondence, diaries and other papers of Amos and Edward Tuck. Includes material on bimetallism, Dartmouth College, politics and diplomacy. Correspondents include N.M. Butler, S.B. Dow, Ernest M. Hopkins, A.B. Paine, J.D. Rockefeller, Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt, A.D. Smith, and George E. Warren. Also includes numerous Tuck family scrapbooks with correspondence, photographs and printed ephemera of the Tuck and French families. Many of the letters are annotated by Amos Tuck French and discuss topics such as family, business, charitable giving, and the Tuck home Château Vert-Mont in Rueil-MalMaison, France. In addition two family photo albums contain images of Chateau Vert-Mont, transatlantic steamer crossings and family portraits.
