The collection contains the typescript of "The Virginian" by Owen Wister before the final editing with letters to Harold G. Rugg and Merle De Vore Johnson. A one page handwritten tribute to Wister by Merle D. Johnson is filed with the correspondence. Clipped signatures of Wister are also included.
