Letter from Daniel Webster to John Jordan Crittenden, in which he states that he cannot write a notice about the Sims case for the Intelligence of the Supreme Court of Massachusetts and asks Crittenden, U.S. Attorney General, to prepare the notice. Webster then comments on Chief Justice Lemuel Shaw and his ruling in the case of Sims, a fugitive slave.
