Four-page letter from Henry Lunt in Boston to Daniel Webster in Marshfield with favorable comments on Webster's 4th of July oration. Writer hopes that we may preserve the wholesome maxims of Washington in spite of attempts of seceders to divide the nation. The doctrine of division of states was first heard by writer in harangue from General Mercer. (photocopy)
