Description

The papers consist mainly of letters from John D. Cooper to his daughter, describing his experiences as a soldier and officer in the 2nd New Hampshire Volunteers during the War of the Rebellion as well as two handwritten orders, obituary newspaper clippings and envelopes, one bearing the frank of Gilman Marston, U.S.C. Some letters are written on regimental stationary and one envelopehas colored print of a Zouave pasted on verso.
