Description

Letters of Calvin M. Burbank to his cousins with description of camp and hospital life, sentiments on slavery and its effects on the South, appraisal of Lincoln, and description of the the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg in which he was wounded. Also described his experiences at the convalescent camp in Brattleboro, Vermont. Recruitment of black troops is also mentioned.
