Description
The collection contains letters to the Paymaster General in Washington, DC and include recommendations for paymasters for various regiments and districts, notice of accounts, requests for payments and pensions. The bulk of letters are addressed to Robert Brent (1808-1818), Nathan Towson (1819-1841), as well as from J.C. Swift (1812-1816) and William B. Lewis (1835). Other correspondents include N. Frye, Alden Partridge, John Armstrong, William Lee, Maj. Gen. Jackson, Willima Eustis, Thomas Parker, D. Parker, Thomas Pinkerton, James Reed, and James Monroe.
