Choate Family papers
Description
The papers of the Choate family contain correspondence, business papers, maps of property, including of Crosses Island, poetry, and exercise books of various members of the Choate family. The bulk of the collection comprises correspondence of Washington Choate, and correspondence, commissions, and business papers of David Choate. The will of Capt. Francis Burnham as well as typescripts of public address on the Choate family, written 1952, entitled "Gleanings from an old attic" are also included. Other correspondents include Aaron Foster, Asa Mead, and Reuben Dimond Mussey.
