Parrish Family Papers
Description
The papers of the Parrish family are primarily genealogical in nature and include family letters, handwritten books of genealogy, notes, clippings, copies of wills, deeds, photographs, pamphlets, books and diaries. Of note are a handwritten booklet entitled, "From Our Monthly Meeting Held at Philadelphia for Pennsylvania and the Jersies by Ad¬journments from the 21st of ye 26th of ye 7th month 1719," written by Christopher Marshall, as well as a number of Quaker marriage certificates, the earliest dated 1733.
The Papers of the Parrish Family were originally part of the 1985 gift of the Maxfield Parrish collection, from the estate of Maxfield Parrish, Jr., to the Dartmouth College Library. Because the subject matter differed so completely from the rest of the Maxfield Parrish material, the two groups of papers were processed as separate collections.
