The collection contains letters by William Smith to Isabel Proctor, whom he married in 1845. Includes letters he wrote to her while he was travelling in Europe; some letters are addressed to both Isabel and his daughter Rhoda. Also includes Isabel's letter to Smith, in which she accepts his proposal of marriage.
