Description
Robert F. Bob Hargraves, Dartmouth Class of 1961, Professor of Mathematics Emeritus 1967-1978. Oral History interview about Hargraves’ role in computer science at Dartmouth, both as a student, as well as a professor. Hargraves documents his contribution to the Dartmouth Time Sharing System, in particular his role as the president of Dartmouth Time Sharing System Incorporated, and the course of that for-profit organization. Further, he recounts the general technological advances in computer science, both at Dartmouth and in the corporate world through the 1960s. Finally, Hargraves notes the reputation which Dartmouth established for itself because of the success of the Dartmouth Time Sharing System and the development of BASIC.
