Louis D'Acosta letters
Description
The collection contains Louis D'Acosta's correspondence with members of his family while he was serving as the regimental paymaster for the 64th Regiment of Foot on active service during the Sepoy Rebellion. Much of the correspondence is from Belgaum and vicinity. Includes discussions of army life, army discipline, battles, Indian politics and life, and concerns of British civilians during the rebellion.
