Description
Oral history interview with Garvey Clarke, Dartmouth Class of 1957. Clarke discusses his early life in Barbados before moving to the U.S. as a child and growing up in New York City. He discusses his experience as a Black student at Dartmouth in the 1950s, including his memories of the student government referendum banning discrimination against Black and Jewish students in fraternities. He also details his career after graduating Dartmouth as a lawyer and nonprofit executive promoting educational opportunities for students of color.
