James Noble papers
Description
The papers of James Ashcroft Noble contain correspondence with other writers and handwritten essays, and poems. Includes drafts of several published essays and two copies of his "Morality in English Fiction" (1886). Several copybooks of his daughter Mary Noble are also included. Correspondents included Edward Dowden (1843-1913), Robert Buchanan (1841-1901), Rosa Mulholland (1841-1921) and Grant Allen (1848-1899).
