Daniel Webster letter
Description
Two-page letter from Daniel Webster in Boston to Stephen Duncan in Natchez, Mississippi. Duncan had written to a Mr. Binney seeking an opinion on topics related to the Bank of Mississippi, of which Duncan was president. Webster explains that Mr. Binney has given him the letters and papers and that in October he will look into the question and send Duncan his opinion. (It is likely that the opinion Duncan sought related to the constitutionality of the newly-chartered Planters' Bank of the State of Mississippi).
