Description
The papers of Charles Thorpe contain professional correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, handwritten journals, business logs, legal documents and financial records related to the "White Mountain Republic Journal" of Littleton, New Hampshire which he bought from William Bridges in 1903. Includes materials relating to his work as publisher as well as that of his son Roy who assisted him. Much of the material relates to a series of libel cases involving the newspaper. The collection also contains personal and family correspondence. Family members represented here include Roy Thorpe, Louise Powers Thorpe and Harriet Beatrice Thorpe.
