Charles Eastman papers
Description
The papers of Charles A. Eastman contain scrapbooks of clippings by or relating to Eastman as a member of Dartmouth College Class of 1887, as a spokesman for Native Americans, particularly of the Great Plains, and as a Native American educator. Of note is an important series of letters from the Earl of Dartmouth and a letter from William Jewett Tucker. Correspondence of his daughter Eleanor Eastman Mensel, 1982-1983, and several of her school diplomas are also included.
