Douglas VanderHoof papers
Description
The papers of Douglas VanderHoof contain letters to his parents, Hervey Brundage VanderHoof and Emma Frances VanderHoof, a certification of enrollment at Tacoma High School and a scholarship grant confirmation letter from Dartmouth College. Letters dated from September 1897 to May 1901 were written during his time at Dartmouth, documenting VanderHoof’s academic and extracurricular life, as well as his family affairs. Topics include financial requests to his father; involvement in "The Dartmouth," Casque and Gauntlet and Mandolin and Banjo Club; affiliation with a Greek organization, Theta Delta Chi fraternity; course works and examinations; friends he made at Dartmouth and short trips to different parts of New England and California.
