Charles Richardson papers
Description
The papers of Charles F. Richardson contain personal and professional correspondence, including letters concerning his books and monographs, as well as letters addressed to his wife, and letters written by his colleagues and friends after his death. Material and manuscripts for his unfinished book, "A History of American Newspapers," clippings, notes for lectures and addresses as well as plays and poetry are also included. The collection also contains a scrapbook, a typescript of an unfinished summary of his life, with quotations from his letters, and six letters to Henry Alden Clark concerning the writing and editing of their book "The College Book," published in 1878. The material documents Richardson's life as a writer.
