Description
The papers of Robert F. Leavens consist of correspondence, notes, drafts and typescripts of his projected book "Collected Addresses and Writings of William Jewett Tucker," and the published monograph "Dr. Tucker's Dartmouth" (1965), a volume which was completed by Arthur Hardy Lord after Leavens' death. Correspondence with Ernest Martin Hopkins, and Edward Connery Lathem regarding both works is also included. The collection also contains transcriptions of Tucker's correspondence and the essay, "Some Men of Dartmouth," which profiles Samuel Colcord Bartlett, John King Lord, Alonzo Hall Quint, Carleton Pennington Frost, Hiram Hitchcock and Francis Brown.
