James Richardson papers
Description
The papers of James P. Richardson contain personal and professional correspondence related to his 1938 campaign as candidate for the Republican nomination for Representative from District #2 in the New Hampshire Congress, including a letter to Dartmouth College undergraduates inviting them to help with the campaign, letters of thanks for contributions, and letters from his friends after his defeat. Other campaign related material includes a notebook with his speaking engagements, official notice of filing as a candidate in the Primary Election, statement of receipts and expenditures incurred during the campaign, and a speech for the Candidates' Meeting at Chesterfield, N.H. Reviews of the work of the United States Supreme Court for the years 1927 to 1940 as well as two notebooks with class notes and correspondence and bulletins related to the National Recovery Administration are also included.
