Description

The Papers of John French, Jr. contain documents relating to his work with the Joint Allied Military Government in post-war Germany as a member of the quadripartite Economic Directorate and the Joint Export-Import Agency. The papers contain personal and professional correspondence, memoranda, reports, bulletins and official publications concerning military regulations in the the US Zone as well as the bipartite zones of the United States and Great Britain, with an emphasis on the economic conditions and the economic recovery of Europe in the post-war era.

The addendum contains notes, correspondence and reports related to the Dartmouth Alumni Fund, Board of Overseers of The Hopkins Center, Dartmouth Arts Council, Dartmouth Class of 1930 Resolutions committee, and a literary exhibit for the 1955 reunion for the Class of 1930. Also contains two World war II era publications: "Monthly Report of the Military Governor" and meeting minutes of the Economic Directorate of the Allied Control Authority, 1947.
