Morton E. Wise collection of Maurice Sendak
Description
The Morton E. Wise Collection of Maurice Sendak contains correspondence between Sendak and Eugene Friese, Library Supervisor of Highline School District (Seattle, WA). Friese first contacts Harper and Row Publishers to arrange a tele-conference with Sendak for the National Children’s Book Week. The correspondence deals with the logistics of the event and Sendak and Friese’s sharing of personal philosophy towards children’s literature. This correspondence continues after the scheduled teleconference. Also included are two very short “thank you" notes from Sendak to bookseller Milton Reissman.
