Description
The collection contains two lightly annotated typed playscripts for "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes." Also includes a group of 28 letters from Loos' friend H.L. Mencken to her and seven letters from Loos to various people. Additionally, a US passport for Anita Loos from 1929 and a theatre program for "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" from the Times Square Theatre, 1927 are included.
Of note is the change in title in Loos' hand from "Social Register" to "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" on the cover of the script. The letters from Mencken address their friendship and attempts at establishing social meetings.
