Description

The papers of Wilbur Hugh Ferry contain family records, correspondence, awards, newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, magazines, scholarly journals and articles, personal research, biographies of friends and family, speeches, grant proposals, copies or transcribed articles from various publications, working manuscripts, government reports, financial account information, election records and paraphernalia, typed journals, personal travel records, guidebooks, personal notes, drawings, photographs, papers from his days at Dartmouth College, law case files, and committee records. The papers document Ferry’s personal and professional life. His professional endeavors include his participation with the Daniel J. Bernstein Foundation and the Center for Democratic Institutions, his interest in and involvement with nuclear disarmament, particularly European Nuclear Disarmament (END) and the efforts to stop the deployment of missiles in Comiso, Sicily. In addition, material related to the Exploratory Project on the Conditions of Peace (ExPro) which Ferry founded, and material related to the Freedom of Information Act, human and civil rights and covert intelligence as well as material related to the founding of the East Asian History of Science, Inc. and African affairs can also be found here.

The collection contains correspondence, writings, reports, clippings, articles, photographs, printed material and publications,speeches, essays, and financial documents related to Ferry's involvement with the Fund for the Republic and its Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions, the Daniel J. Bernstein Foundation, European Nuclear Disarmament (END), the Exploratory Project on the Conditions of Peace (ExPro) which Ferry founded, the East Asian History of Science, Inc. and African affairs.
