Description

The Edward S. Amidon Civil War papers contains two journals documenting his experiences as a sailor aboard the USS Sabine and USS Niagara. Photocopies of Amidon's muster rolls and pension documents are also included as well as his military discharge certificate. Amidon's Naval enlistment under an alias, Edward Aldrich, to thwart his family knowing details of his enlistment.
