Description

The papers of Clifford Hayes Smith contain letters to his parents and sisters while he was a student at Dartmouth College from 1875-1879, as well as correspondence related to his personal life, career and involvement with the Vermont Anti-Saloon League. A diary chronicling his trip to Italy in 1907, as well as commercial photographic prints of the sites he visited on this journey are also included. In addition, the collection contains two family photo albums, a catalogue of the Brattleboro Academy, the draft of a historical Vermont story written by his wife Martha Votey Smith, a handwritten psalm, a newspaper clipping from "The Dartmouth" and tributes to Smith.
