Description

The collection contains four documents related to the seal trade in the Pribilof Islands, Alaska. Includes an accounting sheet representing proceeds from seal and sea lion pelts taken on St. Paul Island and measurements as well as seal breeding rookeries on St. Paul. Also includes two letters related to Assistant Treasury Agent, Capt. Abial P. Loud. One is a letter to Loud from Secretary of the Treasury, Charles S. Fairchild, concerning Loud's transport to Alaska and the second is a positive personal recommendation from Special Treasury Agent Joseph Murray. Creator unknown.
