Charles Hitchcock papers
Description
The Charles Henry Hitchcock papers contain seventeen hand drawn and annotated geological bedrock cross section maps of New Hampshire, probably for use in "Atlas accompanying the report on the geology of New Hampshire" by Hitchcock. The maps include the name of rock strata as well as "type localities" (the places where they are exposed in their most typical form). Twenty-two notebooks are also included.
