Arctic Ephemera Collection
Description
The collection contains ephemera related to Arctic exploration, its indigenous people and the Arctic environment including trade cards and advertisements, programs, broadsides, posters, photographs, stereo view cards, glass slides, drawings, watercolors, letters, prints, puzzles and games. The collection documents popular visual representations of the Arctic in print for arts and business. Of note are a letter by Rudyard Kipling regarding his cultural appropriation in "The Jungle Book" and a print "Landing the Treasures" by George Cruickshank. The collection was compiled by an anonymous collector.
