Oral history interview with David T. McLaughlin
Description
The oral history interview of David T. McLaughlin is comprised of audiocassette recordings and an indexed transcript of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Jane L. Carroll during 1996 and 1997. The entire interview runs for approximately six and a half hours and covers his undergraduate year, his service as a trustee and chairman of the board of trustees and his presidency. Some of the topics he covers include his friendship with John Sloan Dickey, his assessment of John Kemeny, governance of the college, his relationship with the faculty, the medical center move to Lebanon, the reinstatement of ROTC, the occupation of Parkhurst Hall and the shanties on the Green in protest of the College's investments in South Africa.
