Charles Hunt papers
Description
The collection of Dr. Charles W. Hunt includes medical notes, drawings, patient lists, transcripts and copies of correspondence, photocopied pictures of him in uniform and a 2-tablespoon measuring cup used for medicinal purposes stored in wooden case. Documents both his school work and his time in the military during the Civil War. Of note is his medical note book which exhibits the knowledge of the time period regarding symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis, and prescribed treatment for conditions such as erysipelas, pulmonary apoplexy and hemorrhage, pneumonia, pleurisy, poisoned wounds, insect bites, bone fractures, chronic gastritis, etc.
