Three-page letter from John Chase of Hingham, Massachusetts to Benjamin Pike Chase in Chester, New Hampshire, informing him that he has a school of 73. The government seems to be "in a deep dilemma," resorting to every alternative to support this "War of Madison." Includes a letter of January 14 talkin about a peace rumor, but is not credited to anyone.
