Letter from Elijah Parish in Newburyport to John Wheelock, stating that he does not write as postage revenue goes for blood and murder. Government is in bankrupsy and confiscates estates for taxes. States that he has sunk to a "mere mechanical parson"and discusses children's education, wishes W- would appoint him to a university chair. Tells of a new epitome and an abridged life of Dr. E. Wheelock.
