Judge J. Dana letter
Letter from Judge J. Dana to Tristram Gilman regarding Trustees vs. President trouble. Believe "Sketches" truthful portrayal of affairs and is horrified at actions of Trustees. Is confident that the Legislature will reinstate president with an acceptable board of trustees - but is trembling for furture of Dartmouth. Political feeling is stirred against the college for citizens are fearing the present regime is gtrying to establish Calvinism as law and religion as state.
