Two-page letter from Daniel Webster in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Tobias Lear, concerning a claim of Phineas Whitney and Doctor Peter Howe for assistance and medical service rendered to Samuel Hamblen, a wounded soldier in Capt. Larrabee's Company. The accounts were settled and a warrant issued in Webster's name. Webster has lost or mislaid his record of the sum allowed to each claimant and asks Lear to furnish info.
