Four page letter from Daniel Webster of Salisbury to Thomas Abbot Merrill of Hanover, N.H., informing him that he is sorry that the President will not meet the strong wishes of the public and the College in respect to a Divinity Professor. Think it best not to be at Commencement since Hunt will be there to tender his affections on Mary.
