Description

The collection contains correspondence, printed matter, photocopies, typescripts and manuscript drafts comprising the research conducted by Frederick Chase for his History of Dartmouth College and the Town of Hanover, published in 1891. Also includes additional documents gathered by John King Lord in continuing Chase's project and published as volume 2 of the history Papers contain notes and correspondence of Arthur Fairbanks who served as editor. Some of Lord's research was also used in his later volume on the history of Hanover, published in 1928.
